Rest In Peace Chris Perry

Rest In Peace Chris Perry

Paula Hobbs-Shoulder18 Apr - 16:33

The sad news has reached us of the death of Chris Perry a former Lansdown player.

Former Ist XI opening batsman Chris Perry has died age 77. Chris was a First XI player in seasons 1973/4 and member of the side that won the Somerset Knock Out in 1973.

Chris was educated firstly at Oldfield School and then won a sports scholarship to Millfield where he excelled at cricket.

He was also one of the many Lansdown players around that time who played both cricket for Lansdown and rugby for Bath. Chris made 187 appearances for the Bath Ist XI and was captain in 1974/5.

A delightful, warm and friendly man with a steely determination on the sports field always giving of his best.

His last appearance in the Lansdown Clubhouse was for a Lansdown Former Players reunion last year.

Our thoughts are with his family at this time.

The funeral is on Thursday 8th May at 2 pm:
West Wiltshire Crematorium, Devizes Road, Semington, Trowbridge, BA 14 6HL
